Re-posting Recipes

Just a quick note: Please feel free to post my recipes and even my photos on your blog or Pinterest or anywhere else as long as you LINK BACK TO ME.

I have had a handful of people courteous enough to ask me this question before they post.  There have also been numerous people that have posted my recipes (or their re-creations of) but DO LINK BACK.

Recently I have come across a few blogs that are claiming my recipes as their own, some even using my photos.  This is alarming to me as I would never walk into your classroom, erase your name and write mine on a report.

I don't mind sharing and I find it flattering that any of you would want to share my recipes and/or photos on your pages.  I only mind when my work is being represented as someone elses.

Long story short:  Please feel free to post my work, just let people know that it's my work!  Thanks!

  1. That must be so frustrating not to get your own credit for your own work.

    1. It's flattering but frustrating. I'm glad they like my recipes enough to use them in this manner but it would be nice if they gave credit.

  2. Wow! Now that's bold! Heck, I decided to do your lemon pepper wings tonight and added some garlic butter. Can't wait!

    1. I hope you like the wings! I had guests in town and everyone loved them. I thought they could have used a bit more tang but the rest thought that they were just fine the way they were.

I'm a positive person and so I'm going to assume that the people copying my recipes and photos just are not aware that they should be giving credit to the originator. That's why I felt the need to post about it, just in case people weren't aware.

  3. I've re-pinned your recipes on Pintrest but they always link back and I call them Low Carb Layla. Please continue to post recipes, I've gotten quite a few ideas from you and they're always delicious! Thank you!

    1. Thanks Anon! I'm so glad you enjoy the recipes! Pinterest auto links back so they aren't an issue. I'm more concerned with other recipe websites and low carb websites that are posting my recipe and photo with no credit back to me or a link back to the original recipe on my site.

  4. Those folks who used your photos committed a de facto copyright violation - there is no fair use for photos.

  5. Good to know. You answered the question I asked in another of your posts. I'll be making a lo-carb Pinterest board and pinning you and your recipes a lot! :)
